Upgrade Notes from 5.0.13 or Older
If you’re upgrading from 5.0.13 or older to the current release the installer will perform a “major” upgrade. This is an automated process which must be used when certain aspects of the installer have changed or if a file name of a component has changed. You will notice a couple of small side effects to this type of upgrade.
- Your SureSync Scheduler service will be removed. When you launch the SureSync Desktop after performing the upgrade you will be prompted about this and given instructions on how to reinstall your Scheduler.
- Your SureSync directory will contain a copy of the SureSync trial license. However, your license information (which is stored in the database) is not effected. You will receive a prompt asking you to delete an obsolete license file on the first launch of the desktop. Answer yes to this prompt and you will not see it again. If you like, place a copy of your license file in the SureSync directory so any newly created databases get your license imported into them.
- You will lose minor settings like window sizes. These will be reset as you resize windows.
