SOFTWARE PURSUITS, INC. ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF SURESYNC VERSION 4.0
SureSync Helps Companies Implement Flexible and Cost-Effective Methods for Disaster Recovery, File Sharing, and Distribution of Data
San Mateo, CA - Software Pursuits, Inc., a developer and worldwide distributor of data management software, today announced the release of SureSync Version 4.0, its file synchronization and replication software.
This new release includes features to help IT staffs manage data replication securely across multiple connections, reduce the consumption of network resources, and improve the distribution and protection of data across slow or congested connections.
SureSync 4.0 introduces a new product add-on, SPIAgent, that increases the security of data and minimizes the impact synchronizations have on network resources. Previous versions of SureSync offered an add-on to replicate data in real-time where a monitor would recognize updates within specified directories and folders and then trigger SureSync to replicate data when changes occurred.
The new SPIAgent add-on functions very similarly, as it installs "agents" on servers and workstations that will communicate with one another and enable many new and beneficial features. SPIAgent also includes the real-time replication feature used by organizations to maximize data availability by maintaining the most current data on local or remote servers.
New features introduced by the SureSync SPIAgent add-on include the following:
- Adaptive Delta Technology: Copy only the portion of the file that changes, thereby reducing data transmission amount and time
- Quality of Service (QoS): Advanced controls over network resource consumption
- File Compression: Compress file copies, transmit them to destination machines, and then decompress the file copies to assist users who have slower connections to remote locations
- TCP/IP Transmissions: Copy files via Internet connections
- Encryption: Increased data security when transmitting file copies across unsecured connections
- Multicasting: Send a single file copy to multiple destinations, using a single transmission rather than sending a separate copy to each destination
SureSync continues to offer users many advanced replication and synchronization methods, easy to manage automation features such as flexible scheduling to trigger tasks, the ability to copy and preserve Windows security, file masking features, open file support for Windows and Netware, and much more.
