The files which will be migrated will most likely reside on a network server. However, you can install MigratePro on a desktop machine running Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, or Windows Vista to configure and run your migration jobs if you like.
MigratePro is a 32-bit application but it will run without issue on 64-bit versions of Windows. 64-bit editions of Windows include full featured emulation for running 32-bit code which allows MigratePro to run without issue on these operating systems.
Microsoft Required Components
- Windows .NET Framework 2.0 or newer
- Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 or newer
- Microsoft Jet SP8 or newer
- Windows Installer 3.0 or newer
The MigratePro installer will test for all of the required Microsoft components and inform you if your system does not have adequate versions. The installer will then offer to install the required components for you. If the Microsoft Required Components on your machine are not up-to-date it is possible that you will need to reboot the machine when they are installed.
MigratePro needs at least 40MB of free space on the hard drive for program files, but has no other requirements beyond those of the supported operating systems. MigratePro uses either an Access database or a SQL database to store configuration information and hard drive space will be needed for the database. The database can be stored either on the MigratePro machine or on a remote network drive which is accessible from the MigratePro machine. The size of the database will fluctuate based on the amount of migration jobs you have configured and the amount of log information you choose to store in the database.
