The AOFS installer is required on any source machine where locked open files will be migrated from. AOFS operates on Windows 2000 Professional or Server and Windows XP Home or Professional.
Important for Windows 2003 and newer: MigratePro takes advantage of Volume Shadow Services (VSS) to provide advanced open file copying functionality. VSS is included with Windows 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows 2008. There is no need to install this driver on machines running these operating systems. Using VSS for advanced open file support does not require any additional licensing.
AOFS should not be used on machines which already have St. Bernard Open File (HotSpot) technology installed.
